Audi Q5 Overview
The Audi Q5 is a cool little SUV that's got the sportiness of a sports car and the utility of an SUV all in one. It's the perfect vehicle for any adventure you can dream up.
The 2025 Q5 has some seriously cool design and state-of-the-art tech. It'll still be available in the previous generation for this year, but there's a new model that's even more impressive.
If you are ready, friends, let's take a look at all the characteristics of the Audi Q5 2025.
Before don't forget to like, share, and subscribe to the channel.
The new Q5 comes with all-wheel drive like its predecessor and has a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine this time around with 268 hp. The interior's been updated but still has that Audi signature clean Bauhaus style. There are up to 3 digital displays on the dashboard with the software running on Google's Android OS. If you don't want the latest model, there's still the previous generation Q5 available with 201, 261, or 362 hp.
The new one's more modern and techy and a better fit for its competitors like the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
What's New for 2025?
The Q5 receives a tip-to-tail makeover this year but, confusingly, the previous-generation model will be sold alongside the new one for the 2025 model year.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2025 Audi Q5 starts at $ 46,695 and goes up to $ 67,995 depending on the trim and options.
Friends, your opinion is important to us. Leave your opinion on how realistic the prices for the Audi Q5 2025 are in the reviews section.
Audi hasn't released the pricing for their new Q5 yet, so it's hard to say which trim has the best value for money. We'll update this article when we get more info about the different trims, features, and prices of the new model. For now, here's a ranking of all the Q5 models, both new and old, from cheapest to most expensive (estimated prices for the new Q5):
1. **Entry-level:** The base model is pretty basic, but it has all the basics you need.
2. **Premium:** This trim adds some extra features like a larger touchscreen and upgraded audio system.
3. **Premium Plus:** This one has all the features of Premium, plus some extra goodies like adaptive cruise control and a virtual cockpit display.
4. **Top of the line:** This is the most expensive version, with all the bells and whistles, like 4WD, sporty styling, and a premium sound system.
If you're looking to buy a used Q5, our recommendation is the Premium Plus trim. It has most of the features you'd want at a reasonable price. Plus, it comes with Audi's virtual cockpit as standard. Both the square-back and sporty-looking body styles are available, so choose the one that suits your taste.
Turbo power and all-wheel drive
Audi is going to offer hybrid and diesel engines for the rest of the world, but not us. They haven't even announced the specs for the US market yet. All they've said is that the Q5 is going to have a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that makes 268 hp and will come with Quattro all-wheel drive. We'll get more details about fuel efficiency, price, and everything else closer to when the Q5 comes out in the spring.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
All Q5 models come with a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, but the latest model has a whopping 268 hp turbo 4, all-wheel drive, and a 7-speed auto. The older versions have a standard 201 hp turbo 4 and a 7-speed automatic with Quattro AWD. If you want the 261 hp Q5 45, it's an extra $3,400, but it's totally worth it. The base engine in the 40 may be okay, but the 45 has 60 more hp and makes a big difference. The fastest of the previous generation Q5s was the plug-in hybrid 55, which added electric motors for a combined 362 hp. The suspension in the outgoing Q5 is great and gives a smooth, stable ride on any surface. Also, there's an adaptive suspension available that tries to combine a smooth ride with quicker reactions on smooth roads, and it mostly works well. When we have a chance to take the new Q5 for a spin, we'll update this post with our driving impressions of that model too.
0–60-MPH Times
At our test track, a 2021 Q5 45 delivered a brisk 5.5-second run to 60 mph. Thanks to its combined 362 horses and 369 pound-feet of torque, a 2021 Q5 55 plug-in-hybrid knocked off a quick 4.5-second run to 60 mph at the track; it also beat the performance-oriented SQ5 Sportback variant by 0.3 seconds. We haven’t tested the new-generation Q5 yet, but when we do, we’ll add its acceleration results to this story.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
The EPA hasn't released fuel economy numbers for the 2025 Q5 yet. But since it's still powered by a turbo 4-cylinder engine (albeit with more power than its predecessor), we don't expect it to be too far off from the old Q5's 23/29/26 mpg ratings. We've also not had a chance to put either model through our 75 mph highway fuel economy test yet, so we'll keep you posted when we do.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The Q5's main selling point is its huge interior, with high-quality materials and a functional layout. This new model takes it up a notch with even more tech in the form of extra displays. The flat-top and bottom steering wheel add a touch of sportiness, while the cabin is a mix of leather, cloth, and metal, which matches other Audi SUVs well.
Infotainment and Connectivity
In the new Q5, drivers and passengers are greeted by a wall of screens on the dashboard. It's like they've put a TV right in front of your face! The digital gauge cluster is 11.9 inches, and it seamlessly transitions into a much larger 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display. And if that's not enough, you can even order an extra 10.9-inch passenger display! This display has a privacy screen so the driver can stay focused while the passengers can browse the internet in peace.
The infotainment software is based on Android Automotive from Google, but it'll probably also support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There's also a head-up display available, as well as a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo system.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The Q5 has some basic driver-assist features like automated emergency braking and lane departure warning, which are standard. But if you want some more advanced stuff, you'll need to pay for the optional package.
To find out more about the Q5's safety rating, check out the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Some key safety features include:
- Standard automated emergency braking with forward collision warning
- Standard lane departure warning
- Available adaptive cruise control with traffic sign recognition.
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
Audi's warranty package is in line with industry standards. Its limited powertrain warranties are comparable to those offered by BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Competitors such as the Cadillac CT4 provide more value with longer powertrain coverage; the BMW 2-series offers three years or 36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance.
The limited warranty covers 4 years or 50,000 miles.
